Hi folks!

My wife convinced me, ...er... that is talked me into ordering this subscription. I'm not sorry she did!

We recently received the fancy Maple wood box containing the final coin of the series and the whole package is stunning! They make a beautiful set. I hope you will agree.

So let's start off with the box. Can you guess what's inside?

YES! Congratulations, you guessed it! It's the 1 oz. Fine Silver 3-Coin Subscription - Majestic Maple Leaves (2014). Note that the third coin has a maple leaf made out of jade added to the surface. I think it looks very cool!

Very nice. Similar presentation to the 2010 SML set.

Interesting to note that the 2010 set was much cheaper and less than half the mintage.

Both are nice sets but shows where the mint has taken us in just 4 or 5 years.
Rest in Peace

Nice set Moose , plus the Mint shows an actual mintage of 8500 for the sets, they have been so wishy washy in set mintage numbers in the past.

Cool set, NuMoose, congrats!

I think, this good item, and even (yes this true) will not hold the value, the set is solid and enjoyable. I personally less liked "candy" jade maple leaf, but it just my preference.

Enjoy it!

Numoosey, what's your opinion on the jade coin? Does it add or detract from the coin? I'm undecided on jade piece. The others are great looking. Very nice case too, I guessed wrong, thinking it was the cougar set. I'd love to see picks of the cougar set. Too many nice sets and not enough cash. I still think the displays really enhance a coin. I hope the RCM will release sets with more quality cases. I appreciate the time you take in showcasing your treasures!!

Your very fortunate to share your great hobby with your spouse. It's rare a couple can share the pleasures of the same hobby. I'd love to have a family member, who has the passion I do for coins, the discussions would be so enjoyable. Your wife certain has great tastes!!

My teen son has only a passing interest so far. He just doesn't get as thrilled a out each & every coin as I do. Sure he does have favorites.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you all like this set.

It seems to have been overlooked or perhaps overwhelmed by the flood of RCM releases this year. The only comment I read about it on the other forum was that the jade looks like plastic (not candy Silveroid)

I doubt it will sell out, and the final mintage is likely to be a lot less than the projected 8,500. Of course after this thread, who knows...

As Pocket Change pointed out, my wife does have excellent taste and she was quite sure that this series would be a winner. It's is definitely a plus to share in this hobby.

With regards to the jade leaf, I wasn't sure it would enhance the coin. But in fact it looks very beautiful and adds a bit of natural green colouring by replacing the small silver leaf on the coin.

You can't really tell from my photos, but the capsule for the jade coin is about 1/4 inch thicker than the other two, so the slot in the box is that much deeper to accommodate it. As a result the coin looks slightly smaller next to the others, but the jade leaf really stands out.

P.S. Pocket Change, I'm sure your son will catch the coin fever. Your enthusiasm for this hobby is second to none and no doubt will rub off on him.

@pocket change 50 - I got a really nice piece of jade on mine so would have to say I'm a fan.
