The said battle is thought to be the starting point of the decline of the Western Empire due to the massive loss of life on both sides. So many troops were killed that the Germanic defenses was severely undermanned and weakened. Around 55,000 poor legionaries lost their lives in this one battle, let that sink in for a moment. By far the deadliest battle in any Roman civil war. Post note- It would not surprise me if the guy on this coin used barbarians to fight in the battle ,much like Theodosius I used the goths in the Battle of the Frigidus.
