There is slight rainbow iridescence. I wonder if the coin was gold plated at some time.

Have you seen this coin before Noob? If not gold plated, what causes the gold colour in the creases?

This coin used to be in my collection. What you are seeing is old cabinet toning on fine Greek silver. The coin is quite a but darker than what the photos lead on.

We have bad weather here and keep losing the internet connection.
That is great news Noob, I am happy to give it a new home. Yes, in the hand it is darker. I used two halogen spots for the photograph. I can't quite manage to catch the iridescence, but I am going to keep trying.

Yes, the macho bits are not too visible in the avatar, otherwise they probably wouldn't have allowed it :)
