Sometimes when you look hard enough into rolls you might find those Parks Canada Series coins. You could also get an original roll for around $12.5 and search for coins with high grades.

I've never seen a full role of the parks quarters for $12.50.

I was wondering if that was a clash or struck through. Hopefully some experts will chime in soon about that.

It's PMD. Since those two stripes on the buffalo's belly are incuse, you can press down something on it and they don't get affected. This one has been pressed with a normal quarter. I know I'm bad with computer image editing (can't even get those two coins to line up) but I hope you can see what I mean. You can see "cents" mirrored crossing those two belly lines.

@ Slurexe97 Very good diagnosis, I think your explanation is excellent.

I think it's a Punched over caribou myself since the lines don't seem to crop over the the buffalo design. If so it's probably rare but once again I'm no expert.

You can do this yourself on a coin, just put the two of them together and give a good whack (or several) with a hammer. Alternatively, run it over with something solid that is very heavy, if you want all the design to transfer.
The writing "cents" only shows up on the bison's body because it is raised. The two belly lines are not, they are incuse (lower than the surroundings, in this case it's the bison's body). So when it is hit from above it will show on the raised parts, but not on the incuse parts.

I looked at it again in comparison to my own coins and In retrospect its more likely as others have said I didn't realize the indents were over recessed area.

well after all I believe slurexe97 is right it got me thinking because I couldn't see any damage on the coin from a hammer
