Kind of has a weird look to it, I'd like to see it in-hand to ensure that it hasn't been cleaned. Definitely has seen a container of dip a few times. Report this Post to the Staff

Pictures outside of the 2x2 would help, but, if it's a recent purchase that was at gem BU money do not. Return it immediately. The 1897 appears to be an AU coin to me as well. The reputable TPG companies tend to be real tough on both of these date/mm's as they are quite rare and valuable in true MS condition. Report this Post to the Staff

DoubleEagle20 Pillar of the Community United States 1748 Posts	Posted 12/13/2014 2:34 pm The 1896-O is "cleaned, AU details". I'd say MS-61 or 62 on the 1897-O. Probably dipped.
