Interesting, and I think the photography is involved a bit because the color of the two faces are so different. IMO, if the obverse is closer to real, I doubt the surfaces, but if the reverse is closer then I'm more assured. Those paler areas on the obverse make me think "coloring."

What are you looking at on the rim? Casting burr/seam? I only see the foam edge against the coin.

I see nothing odd about the rim. A little wiry, but not out of the question. Ed, you are sure coming up with a lot of coins these days. Chill, man. You're having too much fun.

Thanks. You got it. No problemo. I think I'm attracted to drama.

No worries here, and a small $ item to boot. Seller has liberal return policy. Will put it on the operating table as soon as I get it to verify authenticity.

Just got my 2 Jansjo lights and looking forward to posting some better photos in my posts

At the price it's for sure a keeper either way. Images are good for ebay. Looking and thinking about the coin and the background, I think this one took just the slightest bit of environmental damage. Barely circulated, though.

Coin arrived today, and it's a nice normal brown color The listing photos weren't even close. It's not a repunched date like he said, and I didn't think it was anyway, but I found a couple of nice little die cracks, and the "D" in UNITED looks a little funny. Will try and post a pic at some point. Grade is no worse than XF45, and no better than AU53.
