Today I bought 9 rolls of wheat cents from a craigslist add. Got the wheats, 2 1/2 rolls of Canadian, and another 50 or so of what he called "odd" cents (mostly MAD's, nothing major) for $10 (about $6.50 face value). After a really quick search I found the following goodies:

1952D-1MM-006 (I think)

1958D-1MM-001 (Markers match perfectly)

1948 with large lamination peel still attached at one end

Also found 2 minor RPM's (1957-D and 1958-D) but haven't determined which ones they are. I'm sure when I go through these more thoroughly I'll find some more goodies.

The 006 looks very close. The location is OK, but the inside upright of the "D" is straight on the 006. Also the top split on the serif isn't an exact match on the overlay. But die wear can alter the shape on the serifs. Did you check for the die cracks on coppercoins?

A die crack on the lapel. Old die scratches through WE. A die crack on the forehead.

You might check for that? If it is not there, then it is probably not this die, but an unlisted one? But the location is so close. So hopefully you find the die cracks.

I looked for the die cracks but couldn't seem to locate them. The coin is pretty well worn, so it was tough to see any markers. I will look again with better light (and eyes) tomorrow. Been looking through the microscope too much today and need a rest! I'll let you know what I find.

Coop, I'm pretty sure it is the 006 after looking again. However, the only marker I could find was the die scratches through WE.

It doesn't show that great in the picture, but they seem to line up with the ones shown on coppercoins.com

I agree. That one marker is a match. thanks for the extra image. Mark it as that die number. Nice find.
