Hi Guys. I wonder if anyone has any info on the rarity of Reverse B rocking horse crown 1935. It is mentioned from time to time but there isn't anything I can find other than a fleeting comment. Reverse B has the sword pointing between the denticles as oposed to the normal one that points at the tooth.I know its not seen frequently. Just how rare is it and whats its value?
Richard lobel's coincraft catalogue lists eight different entries of the 1935 crown, including 25 of them, minted in gold, issued by ballot. Most of these variatons involve the edge lettering.
The Reverse type 'B' is a 1. PROOF, with 2. incuse edge lettering, where 3. the sword point is adjacent to a space between the rim denticles.
Less than TEN of theseparticular proofs are known.
Thanks for quick reply Sel. I read on the varieties I think I have located one but it doesn't look like a proof. Are thre any known Rev B on normal struck 1935's Perhaps they used a worn proof die as a fill in? Stranger hings have happened.
