Was happy to receive this coin today. I have been to this area of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. It is a spectacular view and the tide and surf have sculpted these neat flowerpot rock structures. The coin is plated in pink gold and is 1 ounce. Pardon the dust and scratches. Bottom photo courtesy of; http://www.tourismnewbrunswick.ca/P...llRocks.aspx

Thanks very much for the comments, lots of thumbs up and our NBers are debating the many pros of the area. I have been to the maple sugar camps along this area, and can attest to the great people. The whale info is excellent, frozen in place.
Oh yea, I have to add, the packaging is the same as the Sambro Lighthouse, original clamshell.

This natural wonders series, was one of my first NCLT purchases. After this series ended, I purchased the 1992 25c silver proof Provincial set. Something about geology on coins... gets me every time.

I still maintain the design on this coin is one of the best the Mint has ever done. I am already a sucker for the selective plating designs, but this one just stands out as perfection. I would have liked to see the rest of the Natural Wonders to have the same treatment.

Charlton has it issued for $69.95, I was lucky to snag this at a discount. Originally mintage was planned for 25,000 but only 16,918 were produced. It has been on my wish list for some time. I am a geologist as well, and the theme appealed to me, I really like the gold plated rock formations and the different finishes on the coin are very nice. It also proves that a tree can grow absolutely anywhere, these are rocks in a salt surf, inhospitable.

I also agree this is an incredible coin and it too is on my wish list. I didn't realize it's a relatively low Mintage coin, for when it was issued. The mint was in the habit of doing very large mintages. I'm glad these days they are much lower. I still think they could do mintages of 5,000, especially with the large number of coin designs produced.
It's funny the mint, isn't cutting back on the amount of different designs issued. They aren't selling out and I can't see how this helps?
