What do they use to polish dies? Because judging by what I'm seeing on this nickel it has to be very tiny.

I have so many coins with obvious die polishing that you would think that they use a rough grinder on these dies..

To me it looks like planchet problems--- look at the 1942 cent and the streaks towards the K of KG.

If you're referring to the 42 Tombac nickle,..it's an ICCS high grade specimen strike,.. with a thin clear/lacquer coat giving it that slightly mottled look. A problem free piece.

Many of my specimens or some business strikes show regular die polishing throughout the mirror or regular fields.
