Occasionally, the values in Krause do not represent actual values paid in-country by collectors. For example, The Australian VC dollar of 2001 was selling for hundreds of dollars within six months of issue; it took seven years or so before Krause finally listed it as more than just three or four dollars. But with no other source of information, overseas coin collectors still pay attention to what Krause says.
