As some of you may or may not know. I went to CU and Saw that Frank fc57coins passed away at the age of 48. here is the link. I have read some of his posts they were very informative, instructional especially his link on the Franklin half series. I'll post that link shortly. Lots of good info from a very nice collector.

I didn't know him but I'm sorry to hear the news. We all lose when we lose a coin collector. Hasn't been a very good summer has it? First John J. Ford, then Art Kagin and now this gentleman. Although Ford and Kagin at least had long lives. Forty-eight is way too young.

"No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee."

For Whom the Bell Tolls

I only knew him from his posts on C/U, the Pooch with cigar and a perpetual smile. His threads on Franklins were awesome. I note the last was May 29th, 2005 and was 5 years short of completion. Perhaps someone with great knowledge of Franklins, will finish those years in his honor. Goodbye to a very young and talented man... Mike

It's always sad to hear of someone of this caliber going at such a young age. He offered a lot.

I wish I had an opportunity to post on the CU, but my behavior there on the OF caused my banning. Frank was very kind, and supportive and to the best of my knowledge never had a bad word to say about anyone. I always enjoyed his post, and wish my deepest condolences for his family and his friends at the CU Forum or which there were many. He was, although I didnt know him personally, a kind soul.
