I picked this coin up off ebay from a CCF member and thought I first spied a couple scratches, but upon further examination(these coins are tiny!) it looks like a lamination flaw. I really like the toning.

Not so much a lamination flaw, as a half depth planchet split.
Perhaps the difference between the two types of flaws in this case, is rather moot.

I used to spend these things in normal change, until 1966.
I am about as familiar with them as most Americans are with dimes. This one is .500 silver.
