My wife and I will be traveling to visit family for Christmas so we exchanged gifts today, and, well, I guess I can knock one off the bucket list.

I-Must-Have-Been-Good-This-Year

16.81 g, minted 300-262 BC.

It's a cell phone pic, I'll set my rig up and get some better ones once we get back unless I can find time tonight.

Got a little bored and went ahead and took some better pictures.

This will be a good one to try some focus stacking with when I get some time.

How sweet of her!
My gf of 2 years recently asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her I'd like an ancient coin please..
She's like I'm not wasting my money on a coin for you...
Time to find a new gf

Nice present.
Top picture looks better to my eyes.
As per bottom picture looks like there is a small cleaning job ahead.
Sorry that you miss out on getting a tie this year.

Have a nice trip and a Merry Christmas.

I imagine some of the dirt would come off but I'm not going to attempt it. messing up this thing would be brutal. Looking back and forth between them I think I may like the first picture better as well, on the reverse at least. Funny, since that one is taken with an iPhone and regular indoor lighting. I'll be doing lots of experimenting on photographing this one for sure.

Thanks for the well wishes everybody!

Congrats on a fabulous coin.

My husband is getting (amongst other things) a sweater
But that is his own fault as he is not into coins.
