Hello, I am seeking an advisement from "the currency experts " about which hold in your hand text book about currency, would be recommended.
I have to update my reference guide and knowledge go to books. I have last purchased the 3rd edition 1997 of Don C Kelly's " National Bank Notes "IMO, A great go to hold in your hand guide to most all National Notes.
I am seeking input about a more updated version for the same info Don Kelly's 3rd edition has. Whats his latest edition, is it as good as I would hope, using the 3rd edition as a guide, PLEASE help, I look froward to any suggestion as to assist me in a condensed version of knowledge on the subject, actually all currency, u s notes, FRN'S, Silver certs, Gold Certs, etc.
Thanking You all in Advance, Mike PS, Happy Holidays to You all!!!

The latest version is the 6th edition published in 2008. It comes with his census CD. Brooklyn Gallery seems to be the cheapest place to buy this book. http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-...y=0017-495.9

I own Whitman's A Guide Book of United States Paper Money by Arthur & Ira Friedberg. My copy is the 3rd edition but there is a newer 4th edition that was released this year. http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-...y=0017-454.1

I don't own this book so I can't comment on its contents Whitman Encyclopedia of Paper Money by Bowers.

A second book by the Friedbergs is titled Paper Money of the United States the latest edition is the 20th printed in 2013. http://www.brooklyngallery.com/cgi-...y=0017-454.8

Hopefully this info is helpful in some way.

If you want small size paper money books:

"Small Size U.S. Paper Money 1928 To Date" 10th edition. Schwartz and Lindquist is a must have.

For colonial notes:
"The Early Paper Money of America" Eric P. Newman is also a must have.
