Hello, I recently found this coin while renovating a home and I have been unable to identify what type of coin it may be I haven't found anything identifiable about it and was wondering if perhaps any of you have seen this or something similar before? I have attached images of the front and back thank you in advance for any help! :)

First

If it is genuine, then it is from Athens before BC (most are prior to 250 BC). There are different types of those and plenty of them have been counterfeited. The picture of the reverse (owl) does not instill much confidence in me.

Please give weight and diameter plus a picture of the rim.

Hope a moderator sees this thread and moves it to the ancient forum, where many are able to chime in with their opinion.

Hello and welcome.

Alas, this particular Athenian owl, with its wonky "Edvard Munch" eye, barely legible lettering, wings that look like two planks of wood and all wrapped up in a little round airtite-like capsule, is a very commonly encountered replica. Here's an old thread with one. They were presumably given away in some kind of mass-mailout promotion. Do a forum search for "Athena owl edvard munch" and you'll find a few more threads with them.

And Medieval: if you want a thread moved, rather than wait and hope a moderator spots it, click on one of the "Send Note to Staff" links and ask it to be moved. Things happen much faster that way.
