I am somewhat new to the forums so this may have been answered many times before. If so, please direct me to the discussion. I have three Liberty Standing quarters with no date. I know they are either 16's or 17's because of no stars under the eagles. Is there any other differences between the two that would point to one or the other? Thanks

Do any of them have mintmarks? 1916 was only minted in Philly.

There are diagnostics to tell a 16 from 17. I think the previous
2 posts covered it. If it has a mint mark, it's a 17. no mint
mark, then go to the website and do the diagnostics.

Let us know!
I'd love to see someone find a 16!
Good luck!
Rest in Peace

Why does the article linked not mention the differences between the shield rivets? I thought that was one of the key diagnostic tools.

The key is the bottom fold of the robe. That difference is unmistakable down to P01, as we have shown many times in this forum.

Thanks for the tips. Alas I believe I have three 1917's, rivets are visible and the robes touch the base.
