That is the seller's guess on what this is. I don't know who wrote Japan on the flip, but the seller admits to not knowing. Says it may be a military trade token?

Any ideas?

I bought it for $10 because it has an owl on it.

I can't be of any more assistance in identification since I've never come across one of those before but it is quite a neat design... What is the material, zinc?

I do not know. I may have misunderstood the seller. (S)he's a lttle vague. Sounds like maybe it's from the "owl and stork club" in Danang.
