Hello and welcome

I don't believe this is a coin, it could be a token or medal. The image is of Sun Yat-sen and amount is one yuan (dollar) but it is written backwards and there is no date. From the image the metal doesn't look like silver or copper-nickel, Yuan coin usually weight between 26.7 to 27 grams.

If you've got something "Asian", the best place to look is zeno.ru, an excellent database of Oriental and Islamic coins.

There are a couple of examples of this "coin", listed over there under China/Medals/Souvenir and China/Coin-like souvenirs. Here's a link to an example.

could his medal be a copy of an original? the reason I ask is because it just looks like the lines are thicker in area's and some of the detail is missing like around his left ear and on the reverse the right side of the roof of the hut and even the clouds and stuff doesn't look as pronounced as the other picture. I guess all this could be accounted for from wear and that is why I am asking. I am not familiar with very many foreign coins/metals and was just wondering about this, definately not trying to make a statement that it is fake

I agree with Bryan - a modern Fantasy in white metal using spark erosion dies.

As mentioned in the other forum, it's just a fantasy. It does mention "Mr. Sun Yet Sun, the Father" and the denomination 1 yuan but no year on it.
