From a distance, looks genunine to me, harshly cleaned, and reducing its collector value quite a lot. For a better opinion, a coin dealer or a collector has to see it, but if I was a betting man, I'd say geniune, mounted to a typical pendant.

Not looking to sell, just for my collection. Was given to me by a relative. Fairly new to collecting. Thanks for your help :-)

Welcome to the forum.

I am no expert, but it looks ok to me, very much like ones in my collection. It is the thrill of handling a little piece of history rather than the value which captivates me. Even if your piece is not worth a great deal in the coin collecting world it is still nice to have it.

Yes, it looks genuine.
Btw, the coin has a second date (regnal year), either LIX or LX stamped on the rim.
Not sure if you can determine it without damaging the fitting around it.

If you're going to have a mounted coin, this is the best type of mounting to have. The whole thing is held together by the jumper ring going through two holes at the top of the mount. Remove the jumper and the mount should move gently apart without much, or any, damage to the coin.

Yeah, I'd say it's genuine, but it's obviously been polished which has taken off a lot of the finer details.
