Coin World has published that coins will be available for sale on January 2 at US Mint locations. Prospective buyers are encouraged to contact the US Mint to confirm availability on that date. The US Mint has also announced that 2015-W Proof Silver Eagles will be on sale at the US Mint booth at the January 8-11 Florida United Numismatists (FUN) Show in Orlando, Florida.
To commemorate these releases, NGC will offer special FIRST DAY OF ISSUE and FUN SHOW RELEASES designations for qualifying coins. Scroll below for complete submission instructions.
FIRST DAY OF ISSUE Submission InstructionsNGC will offer its special FIRST DAY OF ISSUE designation for coins purchased on the first day of sales (January 2). The submission instructions below must be followed to receive this designation. Prospective buyers are encouraged to contact the US Mint to confirm availability at US Mint locations on January 2.
Coins must be received by NGC on or before Monday, January 5, to qualify for this designation.
The original US Mint sales receipt showing a January 2 purchase date must accompany the coins.
Submit the coins under the Express grading tier or higher.
Write "First Day of Issue" in bold letters on the NGC submission form.
The default label will be NGC's West Point Gold Star label shown below:
Remove the coins from the US Mint packaging and submit them raw in capsules. Do not send the Mint packaging. If you would like Mint capsules returned, select "Return packaging" in the Services box on the submission form.
FUN SHOW RELEASES Submission Instructions2015-W Proof Silver Eagles purchased and submitted at the January 8-11 FUN Show will be eligible for NGC's FUN SHOW RELEASES designation. The submission instructions below must be followed to receive this special designation.
Coins must be purchased at the US Mint booth at the FUN Show to qualify.
The original US Mint purchase receipt is required.
The grading fee will be $50 per coin.
NGC will offer on-site grading services at the FUN Show. Coins received by 2 pm on Friday, January 9, will be returned by 4pm on Saturday, January 10. Coins received after 2 pm on Friday, January 9, will be graded and shipped to the submitter.
