What area exactly is your property located? This would help greatly to determine the history of the area, and possibly past settlers. It appears as tho your coin dates between 100BC and 100 AD, and appears to be Judean. Better pictures would help as well.

I would lean more towards 17th century Spanish, most likely an 8 maravedis of Philip IIII, but this is not my area of expertise. How it got to Minnesota is anyone's guess.

No, it's definitely Spanish - in the bottom pic, you can clearly see "...ISPAN..." around the bottom.

I'd also assume from the big "8" punched into it, that it was at one stage revaluated to 8 maravedis.

Spanish coinage was counterstamped and revalued for quite some years in 17th century. There is a variety of countermarks and they were applied to a variety of older Spanish coins. I have one which has an '8' countermark applied in 1652 over a 1628 coin - so you are looking at that time range or earlier.

Thanks for the comments. I understand pics aren't the greatest. It almost looks like a Z before the S P A. We live in moorhead mn. Fargo nd across the river. use to b a historic log cabin on my property. We found a bunch of old bottles and a seated liberty 1877 CC. Everything's found has been during time period of 1880's. I'm still curious as to someone having the same coin. I understand highly unlikely but u never know. Or someone knowing for sure wut it is. If I remember correctly it came up as 00-28 on a mine lab machine. Still appreciate more info from every one. Thanks!!

Camera sucks. Just a iphone. But coin in good shape. Pics don't do it justice. It appears to b in a fire which is consistent with stories of the Indians burning the first cabin down.
