Hello and welcome.

Sorry for your first post to receive such unhappy news, but yes, it's a mass-produced replica of a Spanish-colonial coin.

Here's another, found on a beach in the Bahamas, so it doesn't surprise me that it was found by a metal detector. It was probably buried as part of some kind of Pirate Treasure Hunt game.
