Hello All.
I found a 1982 Canadian quarter that is struck on 1 side only. The queen side is missing. Any thoughts?

to CCF. Photos please. Most likely it's PMD. You can not strike a coin at the mint with only one die. It's like trying to clap with just one hand John1

the weight should be around 5.07 grams, it's probably PMD, done by sanding or machined. If the weight is bang on then you may have something IMO.

another point, it's well circulated and if it was mint damage it would have been found long before now IMO.

Sorry, it looks like the obverse was sanded off after it was put into circulation. PMD.

Weight at 4.85g. I guess someone tried out their new sander. Thanks.

canadamike See what a Craftsman S280 Sander running at 1800rpm can do. If only struck on one side the obverse planchets collar would be seen. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like engraved letters faintly in the middle. Someone sanded it off and tried and turned it into a "love token"

I agree on PMD the blank side is too perfect for 30 plus years in circulation

interesting, but yes I would agree upon a PMD.
