The reason I am asking is that I am a member of NGC to send out my raw morgans for grading & to preserve them (most of the morgans I was able to buy are in NGC slabs).
I started an Ike set and the majority are in PCGS slabs and only a few are in NGC slabs. I have a bit of OCD and like to keep my sets in all the same slabs.

So in order to cross over my NGC IKEs, I need to send them to PCGS.

Thanks

I did not see the need to pay for both. When it came to decision time, PCGS won me over with TrueView images. All of my collection is PCGS.

Welcome to Coin Community, 12coins12. It should be stated at the outset that OCD is assumed, expected and encouraged in numismatics. You're among friends.

So you face the condrum of settling on a single slab home. PCGS (currently) enjoys a perceived advantage in the marketplace, and in certain areas it's deserved. The coins you have in PCGS plastic are of this type. The Morgans are perfectly respectable to me (a Morgan guy) in NGC plastic but would probably suffer if you try to cross them in the slab. Yet cracking and submitting is always a risky proposition.

Don't know which way to pull you yet; I'm musing, defining the problem.

I am a member of both. And as OCD as the next numismatist, which is why I am a member of both.

My graded Libertad collection is in NGC holders and my Panda collection is in PCGS holders. Mostly because the majority of coins that I found when starting to collect my respective sets, were in those respective holders and being OCD, I decided to keep it that way instead of going to the expense of crossing everything over. That expense saved, more than pays for the memberships. (for now). I still will occasionally find a quality coin in another holder and will send it in for a crossover.

Calculate the cost of crossing over all the Ikes to NGC. Then calculate the cost of crossing the NGC Ikes to PCGS plus membership fees.
