Size of the coin is approximately 1 1/4"

It looks like some sort of copy/replica/imitation of a Spanish colonial cob, compare with http://hkmal.blogspot.com.au/2014/0...-potosi.html

Thank you, I appreciate your help. What makes you think its a replication? I'm no expert but it seems pretty old and somewhat used. Has some good weight to it too.

The devices are very crude. Not that some originals of this coin series were not crude in their execution, but on this coin, some pictograms in the coat of arms, and even letters in the legends, look blurred in their detail. Kind of like a picture that's been photocopied again and again, losing the details, until only a fuzzy blob remains of the original image.
