Hello all!
So this beauty error coin came recently as a part of an on-going lot I'm aquiring. I purchased a few of these britannia cents, and noticed this one has a serious planchet problem. The metal seems to be blistering from the inside out, on both sides. The coin is in decent condition, and does not appear to have been whizzed or cleaned at all. Any comments or ideas as to what may have caused the error, and to finally approve/disapprove it. Thanks for all the input!!

I've noticed this occasionally on George III coppers found by detectorists, I assumed that it was an aspect of fertiliser, till now.

Definately not a detector find, and the most unusal thing is where the INA of Britannia are missing, there is NO apperant signs of wear, and the rest of the coin appears to be UNC! .its really odd. The letters are completely gone, yet the rim directly beside them is untouched. Were these coins made with a core? Possibly a mixture error within the molten? Causing internal blistering over time?

There is wear, plenty of it. If you look up a pic of coins with this Britannia design, she has a lot more details than what you can see here.
