I found this in my uncles things after he passed away, so I unfortunately don't have any background info on how he got it or where. Hopefully someone will be able to fill me in? Sorry about the picture quality, I only had my cell at the time, so this is the best I have. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I forgot to say, it's roughly 25 mm across.

You are right, it is Roman (or Roman provincial) as the S C in the reverse field inidcates. Try to get closer pictures, especially of the reverse (the upper picture). Someone in the ancient forum might be able to attribute it from those pictures, but I would need better ones.

to the community Larger pictures would help, I believe it's Lucius Verus. The reverse is Lucius Verus and Marcus standing facing each other and shaking hands. Without clear legends it's difficult to pin down the correct RIC number.

You might be right, could be either of those two with the CONCORD AVGVSTOR reverse.
Probably need to be able to recognise part of the legend to separate the two.

Sorry to show my ignorance here, but I have a few more questions if anyone can help. What could this be made of? What denomination could this be? What does "CONCORD AVGVSTOR" mean? Would this be of any value if the estate executors wanted to sell it? Thanks to everyone who has helped so far!

CONCORD AVGVSTOR basically means unity and harmony between the two Emperors ( Lucius and Marcus) who were joint Emperors from 161 until 169 when Lucius died. It is made of base metal ( copper or brass) Good luck

Here an image of the general type to which your coin would belong (from Wildwinds): The image is of a Sestertius but your coin would most likely be a Dupondius or As based on the size. As you can see the inscription on the reverse starts CONCORD AVGUSTOR, indicating the 'harmony' between the emperors, the rest of the inscription gives an indication of the year it was minted. The obverse shown is from Marcus Aurelius but Lucius Verus issued the same type (the two figures on the reverse represent those two emperors). To definitely identify the coin will require better pictures. Can't really make a comment on the value of the coin.

It doesn't have a radiate crown, so it isn't a Dupondius. At this size, its large for an As, small for a Sestertius. There is a copper As of this size listed, though, so Id call it that. The bust shares all the distinct features of Verus.
As for selling it, I wouldnt expect it to even meet the £10 mark. Low grade sestertii large base metal coins are easy to come across and in this condition you'd have trouble finding interest in it. However, Verus isn't the most common emperor and bust is discernible - depends on the day really. Sentimental value probably overshadows the market value.
