Hello all!
Just really would like to get a grade on my poor cartwheel. Its a brand new edition, and needs a rough grade for catalog. Its a 1797, Brittania 2 pence. I know it wont grade high as Gorgie is almost a ghost, but for 200+ years is in fairly good shape considering there is no major damage. Give it your best guess!! Thanks all!!

Very worn but nice rims.
Overall it wouldn't grade.

Not even a VG? I can still see the silhouettes, date is clear and has no major damage to the planchet...you believe it couldn't even get a P?

Also keep in mind these pure coppers are extremely low relief, and the original bust is almost nonexistent.

Its what we class as date only which is about as low as you can get. Normally the portrait is protected as the inner rims are very high and served to protect most od the recessed detail. Amazed the rims are so clean. I only have the one it's a little lighter than the pic but not by much. My photography skills being next to non-exsistant lol.

Wow. Now that is a great looking cartwheel. I know mine isn't going to grade anywhere near yours but any idea what it could grade?

I am afraid the probably wouldn't asign a grade to it UncleLuc. below poor grade, is Date visible but not really a grade. Just tells you ennough info that the only thing really of any ecognition is the date. But I love these coins no matter what they look like. As soon as you pick one up. You can almost see the era it was from and imagine where it had been . Yours could probably tell the best story of all. So to me it is worth its weight in gold.
