This is one of the uncleaned coins that came out from the batch. I spent a few hours last night trying to figure it out. I thought perhaps it was Roman provincial. The "SS" pattern made me think of the "SC". But obviously not the same. Maybe it's not even Roman...?

Any ideas? I appreciate the help!

the "SS" is a coiled serpent, I think the obverse shows caracalla..but not sure.

I think Chris is correct, it does look like Caracalla. Appears to be a provincial coin from Augusta Traiana, either Mionnet 44 or Moushmov 3055.

Going by the 'IANOP' which I can read, I would check Trajanopolis and Hadrianopolis, more likely the latter with the letter in front of those having a good chance to be an 'R'.

Thank you all for the guidance. I'll go through Wild Winds again and see what I find. At least the provincial guess was not far off.

I went through wild winds again. What y'all think?

Removed link to Whirlwinds, not able to post images from them-echizento.

Thrace, Augusta Traiana. Caracalla. 198-217 AD. AE 30. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / AVGOVCTHC TPAIANHC, coiled serpent with radiate crown.

As said before, the part of the legend legible on your reverse does not reconcile with the inscriptions for Augusta Traiana.
