I found this today. Yes, I do a lot of roll searching. The rim is formed correctly and I'm sure it is mint damage. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's post strike damage.

The rim, which you see on the periphery of the coin, is formed by the die DURING the time of the strike. On your coin, above the last T in TRUST, the rim was pushed inwards into the field by whatever damaged it, AFTER the strike occurred.
