Is a now completed collection of circulation strike Jefferson nickels 1938-2014 ... with all 172 coins in that set having been obtained at face value from my local bank rolls. Correct ... I have finally bagged the 1938-S and my Jefferson set is done. It took me 6 years 11 months and $16,040 face value of nickels searched. My participation in the CCF is the result of looking for information on nickel roll searching early on ... and I've enjoyed sharing the journey with all of you. Amazing that I went nearly 5 years on a dry spell needing only two .... then the 1943-D and 1938-S show up within two weeks of each other! A few photos ... 1938-S VF/XF The coins 1938-1961 are stored in a blue Whitman folder ... Whitman Page 1 ... 1938-1944-S Whitman Page 2 ... 1945-1952-D Whitman Page 3 ... 1952-S -1961-D The remainder of the set is stored in a Dansco 7113 album. What's next? Well ... I can't imagine stopping now. Upgrades go on forever ... and I am currently 3 coins shy of completing the 2nd set (1938-S, 1943-D and 1950-D). I look forward to continuing to share that journey with you. David

That's slightly more than .05 of 1 % of coins searched that went into the album. Lots of work, I hope lots of fun as well, but I'll betcha glad that the project is finished!
What did you do with the higher valued duplicates, errors and varieties?

That's a nice looking set from circulation! That takes a little bit of luck buying the right box at the right bank at the right time and a lot of patience. Way to go!
