When I am here and using Fire Fox once in awhile there will be what looks like Chinese letters on top of the screen over the page tabs that just appear, does anyone know what this is?It only happens on CCF when on FF not IE.When it happens I log out and run McAfee quick clean and shredder. John1

You're not really on CCF, but on a counterfeit chinese copy of the website?

Good question. Do you know how to take a screenshot of it to post here next time it happens? If you don't, let me know your Operating System version and I'll hook you up.

Ctrl-PrtScn to copy the screenshot into the clipboard, then paste into Photoshop or other graphics program.

Ha! Cool. Who needs technology when you have creativity. Let me do some looking on your behalf. Is this a laptop or a desktop?

It actually may be Korean, there are symbols that do not look like chiness

It's Chinese with some random characters thrown in. I tried running it through Google translate but it came out as gibberish. Maybe wait for someone who can actually read those words.

Do you use McAfee?
Forum discussions have pointed to McAfee SiteAdvisor extension causing the problem, but a few said even disabling/removing McAfee did not help.
Whatever the problem, you are not alone.

It's the Chinese counterfeiters getting back at the CCF members who are coming down on them hard.

Quote: It's the Chinese counterfeiters getting back at the CCF members who are coming down on them hard. Uninstall and reinstall Firefox. To heck with troubleshooting. Don't install anything alse - toolbars, etc. Save your settings when it asks if you want to. And lose McAfee if you're paying for it. A combination of AVG or Antivir plus Malwarebytes Antimalware, both free, is as good as anything paid on the market. McAfee is prone to false positives which are infuriating. There's a remote chance it's the monitor itself. I'm going to steal your pic and see if I can get it translated.
