1736 Coin, Need Help Identifying - Coin Community Forum

Daniel_Anthony New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 01/12/2015 8:17 pm I found two of these coins in my Grandfather's coin collection ( inherited). I was looking to get as much information about them as I can, and if possible determine whether they are genuine or replicas. "1736" is a very commonly encountered replica of these pieces; Whenever you find a "1736" cob-style piece, you can start from the assumption that it's one of these. Do a forum search for "1736 Spanish" and you'll find several more, such as this one and the coppery-coloured one in this thread. You can apparently buy them at Disney World, amongst other pirate-themed places. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

Is there a possibility that this coin might still be fairly old, and if so is there a way of finding out when it might have been produced? I've tried to find the replica Disney produced to make sure this wasn't the same, but no luck. Thank you for all of your help! Report this Post to the Staff
