I am here to tell you though, that the prices for them right now is CHEAP compared to what they used to be. They have peaked in value long long ago... and really are a bargain now. I have owned a couple, don't have any at this time, but when they have all their mint packaging, and are not abused, they are a really nice item. If you have the means, and all the packaging is there, I'd go for it. As a side note, I don't know why, but sometimes the coins in those sets get really cloudy. I would steer clear of those. Not for any other reason than they are ugly, and that defeats the purpose of buying a set that is purely for displaying the beauty of the coins. Report this Post to the Staff

Much like the brown box silver proof Eisenhower dollars. In the case of the Prestige set, and unlike the proof sets of the time, the lens is not secured or sealed at all. It can be opened very easily once removed from the outer plastic frame (also easy to remove). Storage location (non controlled environment) is going to be a factor.
