SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 01/13/2015 1:05 pm The Mint has never done rolls for Business Strikes; the distributor is the entity which creates rolled coins. Coins leave the Mint in bags today. There are a few dedicated products sold by the roll, though. Report this Post to the Staff
tkbslc Pillar of the Community United States 1158 Posts	Posted 01/13/2015 1:36 pm Yeah, circulation coins just come off the mint assembly line and are pumped through a coin counter that spits them out into bags. That's why the coins the mint sells as "collectible" are done with special handling and minting procedures. It also describes why it is so rare to have a MS-66+ circulation coin. Pacificoin Pillar of the Community Canada 5394 Posts	Posted 01/13/2015 3:35 pm In answer to your query, yes Peace dollars were shipped in bags of $1000 , the same as Morgans . Many Peace dollar bags were distributed through the Treasury as late as the first part of 1964, when distribution of Silver Dollars was halted. Report this Post to the Staff
