Hi,

I hope that someone can help me ID these two identical coins.
Diameter is 15mm (0.6"), the weight around 1g.
They should date somewhere in the 1st - 4th century.
On the obverse is a portrait with radiate-crown, on the reverse a figure with 'spikes' on its back and the letters VSV (?).

These are not regular Roman coins but imitations called 'barbarous radiates'. Based on the portrait could be imitations of the coinage of Tetricus.

I agree they are Barbaric Imitations and the first one does appear to be Tetricus. Not sure of the second one though, the reverse appears to be the same as the first.

Thanks! That explains why I couldn't find the reverse anywhere.

My guess would be that the reverse is based either on a SALVS or a VIRTUS type.
