I bought this coin by accident at an online auction. The picture was different from the description and like a fool I just bid as quick as I could. I decided to just pay for the coin rather than deal with the whole wrong picture issue. I figured the coin wasn't gonna be too bad, and i'll just keep it to add volume to my collection. Please note that there are a lot of scratches on the plastic, and so i'll describe what is on the coin: Obverse: 1. Fields are clean 2. Neck and lower cheek are dirty (doesn't really show on the pictures). As if somebody put a small piece of tape on it and took it. Reverse: 1.Two dings on the neck (as seen on pictures) 2.Couple small scratches next to the nose 3. Dirty nose, face, and neck I'm not 100% sure with ICCS' choice for grade, but then again I'm not familiar with grading Elizabeth II coins Thanks! Edited by Paulsz 01/15/2015 6:51 pm

ICCS really likes clean fields, and tends to be more forgiving on the devices and reverse marks. It is a beautiful business strike, with strong eye-appeal.
I think ICCS called this one a MS-66 Cameo.

The fields on the obverse look exceptionally mark free...that would usually get an ICCS grade of MS-66, and should be designated "cameo" and "silver".

It came out as a MS65. I didn't think it'd rank that high from the looks of it. I guess ICCS really likes clean fields

nice coin Paulsz, I checked on C&C and was surprised to see that the nickel vs silver showed higher selling value, wonder why that is at MS65. Perhaps SPP can answer that as it makes no sense. Unless due to the fact of the first year of minted nickel quarters.

Can you post a photo of the entire certificate?

I think you got a really good coin... that one certainly is at the upper end of MS-65, in my opinion... (call it a MS-65+).

SPP, can I ask what it was on the certificate you had to see and what you ended up concluding from it?

I was curious to know if it was an older embossed certificate. Older ICCS graded coins were more conservatively graded, which would easily explain your coin being MS-65 (when I think it is MS-66)...
