Hello all,

I will be traveling to Vegas this weekend for the first time. Yes, I plan to come home a millionaire , and also maybe snag a few coins while I'm there. does anyone know of any casinos that still have machines that spit out coins? I thought it would be neat to maybe play a few slots that gave back some old coins. Any advice would be great! Thanks so much!

Some Casinos have silver dollars as prizes. Year's ago a friend of a friend won a chest of silver dollars (5000). They offered him $5000 cash if he wanted that instead, but he took the silver. He paid Brinks to take the silver from the Casino to a local coin dealer. The dealer ended up giving him $65,000!

I know that some the tropicana on the south end of the strip which is next to MGM. Has atleast Quater machine I don't know if they have any other amounts. Also if you go to downtown LV. the Fitzgearld has coin return slot nickels, Quarters, I think they might even have half dollar since I have seen bags of half there. They don't have dollar coins they give you there dollar token.
I was just there last weekend for 4 nights. To bad you weren't going in two week 6-7 there is a coin show in LV that week end.
Well have fun

The Tropicana still has some 50¢ machines and 25¢ machines or they did in may when I was last there. Most are going to ticket in,ticket out. The Tropicana is slowly going this route also. Coins will be a thing of the past pretty soon since it allows a reduction in employees.

thanks so much for the advice. I'm going for pleasure, but if I was around ones w/ coin slots, I would definitly spend a few hours piddling through some coins. It's refreshing to hear the noise they make even if it's just nickels :)

Binions had 12 half slots, as well as pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters that spit out coins. I got 6 40% when I went there a few months ago. Just get in a cab or bus, go to downtown Vegas, and most of those casinos still have quite a few coin spitters. Lots of good food and buffets there, too, w/ much better prices than the other casinos. Trust me - Binions is run down, old, and falling apart, with antiquated machinery - just the place to find old coins and good food.

Madman, how long would you say you played to get those six silvers? I was hoping for a quick score and then walk. I have most of my time planned on the BlackJack table making retirement :)

When I was there a few years ago, I had my dad go up to the tables(I was under age) and trade a dollar for a token. Most of them were happy to do that, so you could try that.

I live in Kansas City. The casinos here have all gone to ticket in - ticket out. I quite going. I'm not much of a gambler anyway, but jeeze, walking up to someone with 4000 credits and hitting the 'cash out' button just isn't as fun when it just prints out a ticket.
