Tenhulz Valued Member United States 134 Posts	Posted 01/16/2015 7:38 pm I never even looked at the bill but just went to the corner store for a six pack and they looked under the light at the bill I gave them then talked with the manager, then went to the computer, then tried to put it in their safe and came back and said we cant accept this bill. Anyone know why? I got it from the bank a long time ago. I don't think its counterfeit... Thanks Jean ps I bet the store would not have taken 2dollar bills either, too young... Younger folks are quick to think any different looking bill is counterfeit. I'm sure it's fine. Just take your money somewhere else if they don't know what they're doing. half n a half Valued Member United States 369 Posts	Posted 01/16/2015 9:06 pm Series 1988A and older bills don't have any of the security features like the security strip or microprinting of later bills. As far as its value, $50 is quite a bit too generous, maybe slightly over $20 if uncirculated and you could actually find someone to buy it.
