zookeeperz Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 694 Posts	Posted 01/17/2015 3:39 pm Hi folks. I wonder if you ca assist me on a puzzle. I have a Cook Island proof $5 1977 . I am guessing its part of the endangered species series. However whilst weight and Diameter are spot on its only listed as being struck in silver and has edge inscription. I have no reason to doubt its authenticity. Everything about it is as you would expect fronm a prrof. I can see the very fine over lap where the multiple strikes hhave landed.But this looks more like Copper-Nickel and has a reeded edge and not an inscription. Any ideas where I can find out if there was maybe a proof-set with this in it? Cheers Richard Report this Post to the Staff

The descrition on NGC site says Obverse: Young bust right, date below Reverse: Atiu swiftlet, denomination below Reverse Designer: James Berry Edge Lettering: Wildlife Conservation Report this Post to the Staff
