Heres a cool one- youve all heard of the decapitated eagle or the spitting eagle etc etc.. one of my fave morgans is the sharp dressed eagle. I believe this to be a strike thru. Which leads to me to my first question (struck through what exactly?) The reverse has lines all over albeit the same width and depth(sorta). My first thought was grease but thats why I decided to share with you fine folks. One things for sure 2 things for certain. Its a cool coin
Which leads to 2nd part of my post. Am I the only one.that names their coins when they have neat features? Id like to hear some additional names for this one. IE: the gunbelt eagle.....could be an example. Whoever comes up with the best name Is the winner and ill crown them numismatist of the month

I'm not sure about the strike through but I sure like that crescent tone on the reverse.

I guess PMD is your suggestion then dave? wouldnt the lines be all shiny as opposed to white looking? And wouldnt anacs detail it if they thought PMD as well?
Hell I would call it a hobo eagle if that were the c ASE

I'm not calling it PMD. I'm just saying I have no idea what would/could cause such a strike thru.

Are you sure they aren't scratches on the slab? That's what they look like to me.

Theres a better look...it is most definitely notched into the eagles waistline, like a belt of sorts.

I'm going to throw a guess out after the football game, but until then my PC is two stories above me and the phone screen is too small.

Interesting coin.
