Is this an air bubble? It looks like someone shot a BB through the back, but there's no "entry point", just a lump in the front.It might have been the magic bullet...
That is the effect of heat being applied to the coin. It could have been hit with the heat from a propane torch, or the coin may have survived a fire. Air between the layers of the clad material when heated has the ability to create a bubble like that.
