I've a chance to purchase an 1826 Capped Bust Half. Looking for opinions on 1) if it is real, and 2) what grade it may be.

That looks like severe environmental damage from improper storage. XF/AU details.

It's real and probably EF-45. The severe corrosion is really going to bring down the value of this piece in my opinion.
