does anyone know of an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner that is safe to put acetone in? And also if so, is it safe to put a coin in one?

Why bother to purchase something you don't need. If you want to use Acetone, just use a clean glass. Or glass jar, cup, etc. Why buy something that will just sit around 90% or more of the time.

NONE! Acetone is extremely flammable and should never be used in a sonicator.

Also, in general, sonicators should not be used with coins except with extremely encrusted examples.

thanks for the help guys, I'm only thinking about getting one because I have a nasty old waxy 1859 cent that I think could be the rare brass planchet, its been in acetone for weeks now and I cant get anything off of it. its so caked in dirt, pvc and other stuff that the crud is as high as the letters so you cant read much.

Probably because you've only tried acetone. When taking on a conservation project you should follow the polarity ladder:
