I love roll hunting! My tip to you is to look for die rotation errors you can find 25+ degrees ever so often. I always flip the pennies to check for rotations first. Also, strike it rich with pocket change is a great book for reference.

I have some bad news for you. Both of those "doubled dies" are not doubled dies. They suffered machine damage which is very common on the Lincoln Cents. Nice die cracks and congrats on the wheats!

Indeed. The 1983 DDR is the best of the lot. Maybe http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=mds

In my opinion the pictures are clear enough to see that it's not the DDR. You can see how shelf-like the "doubling" is, and it's not even in the same direction as the 02. I'm rather sure when Coop comes he'll agree with me.

Could be MD - I posted the link for the OP to have a closer look and confirm. The pic is too far for my older eyes to see clearly off my phone.

From someone who personally found and owns a 1983 DDR, that looks like Machine Doubling to me. Show the "One cent" please?
