That's a crazy date distribution--I assume the 1909-1929 were all or mostly from a single dumped collection? Good finds either way!

Yes it appears so. Last box had 29 wheats 200+ BU condition pre 82 with the majority being 1974. Two of the last 3 boxes were this same way. I will have to go back and get another 2

I think I'm right Carlos; you're in need of intervention! Excellent results with the LWCs. I take it you are targeting wheats and not necessarily looking for varieties. If I'm right it goes to show that volume may be necessary to snag the early wheats. I'm surprised at the number of 1909s you were able to pull out! I agree that perhaps someone's collection got dumped, but those collectables are now in the hands of a collector again. It should be fun building the sets for your kids!

Interesting statistics. What impressed me the most is how few wheats from the 1920's and 1930's were found. Isn't it strange that it was easier to find Wheats from the first decade of production (1909-1919) than from the following two decades?

I do on average 100$ a month, which totals about $1200 a year, and I usually don't come close to that on old cents. Usually just a bunch of 1918-1920 P's and assorted philadelphia's and the occasional mintmarked Wheat cent from before 1940... However, lately when I've been doing boxes of CWR, I've been scoring some amazing things. Last box scored me 2 indians :)
