Hungary -- 1584 denar: Not much of a coin, but at least the date is readable, and it keeps the thread moving.

Here is a French Franc dated 1582 and minted in Navarre-Bearn. The rim has been clipped, but these old silver coins are kinda hard to find at non-crazy prices. The attribution is Duplessy 1399 and Roberts 6991.

Very nice! Moving right along again. Get ready for 1581 tomorrow. Am I the only one who thinks about a 3.5" floppy disk drive when I see "1581" on screen?

I dunno what '1581' signifies, but all my photos are taken with a still reliable eighteen-year-old sony mavica camera that uses floppies. the pics are then processed via USB floppy drive. Is there another way ?

Quote: I dunno what '1581' signifies It is the model number on the Commodore disk drive that I posted previously. It is also the date of this one Kreuzer from the Austrian Duchy of Styria.

dspenciner gets it. Here is mine, with my C128 atop the 1571 drive... Yes, it is still hooked up and running. Now we have that out of they way, a good looking Kreuzer for 1581. Anyone else?
