Here is one of the first of, I'm expecting, many Hungarian Denars. These little guys are among the most plentiful and inexpensive dated coins for the 16th Century. The attribution of this one minted in 1590 AD is Huszar 1059.   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

Very nice!  I just realized I had never changed the date on the title to reflect the 1591. I am going to go ahead an set it to 1589, but no posting it until after midnight (US Eastern Daylight Time). |

Poland/Lithuania/Riga -- 1589 3 grosz:   My next coin for this thread is a 1584 Hungarian denar. I have a total of 10 denars coming up from 1589 to 1505. Hopefully, Eddie Diz will show up with his date run of denars back to 1503, or else we'll take a long time getting through the 1500s. |

1588 thaler, Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Goslar mint, also known as a brillenthaler for the spectacles hanging from the wildman's hourglass.  |

Excellent! Moving along very well now. It would be nice to see another 1588 today, but I will be happy to see a 1587 tomorrow. |
