I assume its just damaged but I thought I might make sure before I spend it, its magnetic. and whats with the lines on the surfaces of the coin? thanks Report this Post to the Staff

It might be plated with a white metal, the copper plating stripped off, or the plating wasn't there in the first place (which is unlikely because it would have rusted). The lines are strange. I usually only see them on the zinc ones. Edit: I'm back on my computer now. I think the plating was stripped off. Did you try weighing it? If this was the case, the lines might be from when the metal strip was rolled. They were blanked before being plated. Edited by Altaira 01/19/2015 9:15 pm Report this Post to the Staff
